Magdalena König
Cello Calendar Violoncello and piano
Each month of the year holds its own magic – a changing palette of moods captured in the Cello Calendar through twelve expressive ballads for cello and piano. From the soft bloom of May to the misty quiet of November, composer Magdalena König paints musical portraits inspired by the seasons. The pieces cover a range from first to fourth position, occasionally reaching harmonics. Optional use of fifth position is possible for more advanced players. Some fingerings and bowings are provided, while other passages are intentionally left open to encourage individual interpretation. Each ballad is accompanied by a beautifully designed calendar page (illustration: Selina Peterson ) , and high-quality MP3 recordings (full version and playalong) are accessible via QR code. Content: 1. New Beginning in January 2. Blizzard in February 3. Tender Buds in March 4 First Rays of Sunshine in April 5. Lush Spring in May 6. Solstice in June 7. Calm Summer Days in July 8. Boat Trip in August 9. Fall Atmosphere in September 10. Stormy Days in October 11. Foggy Days in November 12. Sleigh Ride in December

Clara Schumann
3 Romances op. 22 Clarinet (A/Bb) and piano
About this edition The difficulty level of this simplified piano accompaniment is very high. The piano part by the composing pianist Clara Schumann is highly complex, and the possibilities for reduction are limited. Philip Lehmann achieves, with this arrangement, the possibility of an accompaniment even without prior piano study. In the third movement, the present notation format has been chosen to provide as manageable options as possible, depending on the performer‘s abilities: accompaniment with just the bass note, chordally on the downbeat, or with tremolo in the specified rhythm. To preserve this rhythmic specific feature (quintuplets, sixteenth-note rests) of the accompaniment in the right hand, the rhythmic structure is notated from the first measure. Despite this, the greatest simplifications should still be quickly recognizable. Level of difficulty 4 : Compared to the original, the piano movement has been greatly simplified, but can still be practised by amateurs The edition is also available as a pdf file. Joseph Haydn
Concerto Hob. Vlle 1 Trompete (Bb) und Klavier
From practice for practice: ‘dumb it down’ is a series of simplified piano accompaniments to standard works for various instruments, which also offer piano players without a degree the opportunity to accompany their pupils, children, friends, etc. The Concerto in F major for violin, harpsichord and strings (Hob. VII:1) is one of the earliest concertante works by Joseph Haydn - and is also a musical curiosity. The rare combination of two equal solo instruments makes the work an exciting dialogue between two worlds of sound. Haydn unfolds baroque elegance and classical clarity here. This edition is scored in B flat major for trumpet (Bb) and piano. Level of difficulty 4 : Compared to the original, the piano writing has been greatly simplified, but can still be practised by amateurs The edition is also available as a pdf file. Jules Massenet
Meditation Violoncello and piano
The Meditation is only a very short piece in the opera ‘Thais’, which is originally scored for violin and orchestra. The original key is D major. In order to do justice to the ambitus of the violoncello, G major was chosen. Because of the many rubati, we have decided against providing play-alongs. From practice for practice: ‘dumb it down’ is a series of simplified piano accompaniments to standard works for various instruments, which also offer piano players without a degree the opportunity to accompany their pupils, children, friends etc. Level of difficulty 2 : must be looked at before the lesson, practised before the concert The edition is also available as a pdf file. Johannes Brahms
Waltz op. 39 No. 15 Violoncello and piano
From practice for practice: ‘dumb it down’ is a series of simplified piano accompaniments to standard works for various instruments, which also offer piano players without a degree the opportunity to accompany their students, children, friends, etc. Brahms originally composed this waltz for piano four hands and later arranged it for piano two hands. In this case, therefore, there is no original piano setting for the accompaniment of a melody instrument. The ‘original’ piano setting used by Philip Lehmann as a model is a self-created essence of various sheet music editions available on the market. Difficulty level 1 : beginner, can be sight-read The edition is also available as a pdf file. Click on the drop-down menu under ‘Issue (please select)’
