Tunes, Voluntaries ... aus dem Barock | Bd. III

Which trumpet players are not familiar with the ‘Tunes’ and ‘Voluntaries’ by Henry Purcell, Jeremiah Clarke, John Stanley or William Boyce?
These works, which are generally performed in the standard Baroque instrumentation for solo trumpet and basso continuo, are presented in the three-volume collection Tunes, Voluntaries ... from the Baroque period (BRASS TOTAL series).
The arrangements for trumpet quartet fundamentally change the tonal structure: instead of the traditional soloistic leadership and the harmonic foundation provided by the continuo, a homogeneous body of sound characterised by chamber music is created.
This concept not only opens up new ways of interpreting baroque trumpet music, but also lends the well-known pieces a fresh, transparent lustre - an attractive alternative to historically informed performance practice.
