Telemann bringt in seinen "36 Fantaisies" je ein Dutzend "Fantasien" in deutscher, französischer und italienischer Manier. Die lose Folge durch einige Tonarten wurde von Christa Sokoll methodisch ausgebaut und führt bei progressiver Reihung und Aufteilung in vier Bände systematisch durch den Quintenzirkel.

Für die Ausführung dieser gekonnt gearbeiteten und hervorragend klingenden Duette sind nicht unbedingt zwei gleiche Bassinstrumente erforderlich. Sehr gut eignen sich auch die Besetzungen Fagott/Violoncello und Fagott/Viola da gamba.
