Clara Schumann
3 Romances op. 22 Clarinet (A/Bb) and piano
About this edition The difficulty level of this simplified piano accompaniment is very high. The piano part by the composing pianist Clara Schumann is highly complex, and the possibilities for reduction are limited. Philip Lehmann achieves, with this arrangement, the possibility of an accompaniment even without prior piano study. In the third movement, the present notation format has been chosen to provide as manageable options as possible, depending on the performer‘s abilities: accompaniment with just the bass note, chordally on the downbeat, or with tremolo in the specified rhythm. To preserve this rhythmic specific feature (quintuplets, sixteenth-note rests) of the accompaniment in the right hand, the rhythmic structure is notated from the first measure. Despite this, the greatest simplifications should still be quickly recognizable. Level of difficulty 4 : Compared to the original, the piano movement has been greatly simplified, but can still be practised by amateurs The edition is also available as a pdf file.
