2021 marks the 150th anniversary of Léon Jessel's birth. To mark the occasion, Heinrichshofen Verlag is presenting Jessel's well-known works as well as some treasures from the archives, which are being made accessible to a wider audience for the first time in a long time. The Christmas fantasy ‘Knecht Ruprecht is coming!’ musically depicts how St Nicholas' helper comes out of the forest and does not punish but brings presents. The gift-giving is heralded by bells and culminates in ‘Silent Night, Holy Night’. Knecht Ruprecht then leaves again and stomps down the stairs at the end. An entertaining and at the same time highly romantic Christmas music.

Als Projekt des Mendelssohn-Bartholdy-Gymnasiums Berlin und den Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin wurde die Idee umgesetzt, Kunstwerke musikalisch zu betrachten. Franz-Michael Deimling schrieb daraufhin speziell für die SchülerInnen des Projektes neun Stücke in Reflexion zu ausgewählten Kunstwerken der Sammlungen. Das Ergebnis sind musikalische Bildbetrachtungen, die in dieser Ausgabe den Abbildungen der Kunstwerke gegenübergestellt sind. Zu hören sind die Werke unter anderem im YouTube-Projekt der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin "3 Perspektiven auf 1 Werk". Die Stücke sind für Solo- bis Triobesetzungen für Flöte, Violine, Viola, Violoncello, Horn, Posaune, Vibraphon, Pauke und Klavier.

The 26 pieces make a little story. They are not arranged in order of difficulty. Although largely based on simple melodies, the tonal language does not shy away from dissonance. Technically, many pieces have a simple pattern that is repeated and developed to serve as a study. Pedal has been inserted only in a few places - of course, it can still be used in other places. Fingerings have been deliberately omitted. Although written for children, these are not just "children's pieces". They also appeal to adults who still carry their children's world within them.

First concert pieces for piano. A playbook for the old and new piano primer. ‘’Keyboard jumps‘’ is a varied collection of piano pieces that are very suitable for a concert in the first year of lessons. The order of the pieces and the increasing level of difficulty is based on the first volume of the piano school ‘’The new piano primer‘’, making it a good addition to this, but also to other teaching materials. The colourful palette of works includes music by Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven, compositions by Béla Bartók and Dmitri Kabalewski and modern pop ballads by Ulrich Deppe. All piano players are invited to discover the colourful world of music with curiosity and playfulness and to present one or two pieces to an audience.
