Mit 84 eingängigen, kindgemäßen und größtenteils bekannten Melodien lernt der Keyboardschüler schon im Alter ab 5-6 Jahren ohne vorherige Notenkenntnisse die Viertel-, Halbe,- Dreischlag- und Ganze Note sowie Pause. Der Notenumfang erstreckt sich im ersten Band auf c'-c'' (weiße Tasten). Ziel ist es, einfache Melodien mit der Ein-Finger-Begleitautomatik begleiten und spielen zu können. Diese Keyboardschule ist für den Unterricht und nicht für das Selbststudium konzipiert. Es gibt keine weitschweifenden Erklärungen für den ohnehin noch nicht lesefesten 5-6jährigen Schüler. Dimbo's Keyboardschule bietet umfangreiches Spielmaterial für die ersten musikalischen Schritte auf dem Keyboard.

Nachdem im ersten Band in viertel, halben, punktierten halben und ganzen Werten die Pausen und Noten (c'-c'', weiße Tasten) eingeführt wurden, behandelt der zweite Band in gleicher Weise langsam fortschreitend die Achtel- und punktierte Viertel-Note (c'-f'' mit b', fis') und die entsprechenden Pausen. Auch hier basiert das zusammengestellte Spielmaterial hauptsächlich auf bekannten Kinder- und Volksliedern. Hinzu kommen aber auch einfache Stücke im modernen Stil wie Rock'n Roll, Blues, Pop etc., um dem angehenden Keyboardspieler eine Verbindung zu seinem täglichen Musikhören zu ermöglichen. Das Grundkonzept ist das Erlernen und die Handhabung der Ein-Finger-Begleitautomatik, das seine Ergänzung im langsamen Heranführen der linken Hand ans Melodie- und Notenspiel findet. Dieser zweite Band ist die direkte Fortsetzung des ersten Bandes und spricht daher besonders junge (6-jährige und ältere) Schüler an.
