The aim of Let's rag... is to make ragtime music accessible to a large number of instrumentalists. The choice of easy-to-play keys and the shortening of the original length to a manageable two piano pages per ragtime allows players to realise these arrangements without time-consuming preparation.
The advantages of the Let's rag arrangements include the simplification of the rhythmic notation by doubling the note values from 2/4 time to alla breve 4/4 time. This means that even instrumentalists with less playing experience can enjoy this lively music.
