Hommage à Bach is originally an etude for solo concert guitar. In the title, Alexander Zinowsky expresses his special relationship to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. It was only later that Zinowsky added a solo part for flute (saxophone, oboe, etc.) to the composition. The saxophonist Manfred Wordtmann arranged the work for saxophone and piano (organ).

The aim of Let's rag... is to make ragtime music accessible to a large number of instrumentalists. The choice of easy-to-play keys and the shortening of the original length to a manageable two piano pages per ragtime allows players to realise these arrangements without time- consuming preparation. Each solo instrument has the option of playing these ragtimes with traditional piano accompaniment or being accompanied by the CD. The pieces on the CD are recorded with trumpet in the first version and can be played with piano accompaniment in the second version.
