From practice for practice: ‘dumb it down’ is a series of simplified piano accompaniments to standard works for various instruments, which also offer piano players without a degree the opportunity to accompany their pupils, children, friends etc. Max Bruch is one of the composers of the Romantic period. The Romance is one of three works he wrote for viola - an instrument that only played a minor role in the concert repertoire at the time. Bruch created these compositions in the last years of his life. The original scoring of the Romance op. 85 was for viola and piano.
