Johann Friedrich Fasch
Concerto in C Major German flute, Violin, Basson ( Violoncello) and Basso...
Johann Friedrich Fasch (1688-1758), a pupil of Johann Kuhnau, Thomaskantor in Leipzig, and (later, after initial success as an opera composer) of Christoph Graupner, court conductor in Darmstadt, moved to Zerbst in 1722 to take up the post of court conductor, where he remained until the end of his life. Numerous church cantatas, several masses, but above all the impressive number of his highly remarkable instrumental compositions (orchestral suites, symphonies, concertos, quartets and trios) prove Fasch to be one of the truly significant and progressive composers of his time. Johann Sebastian Bach's high regard for the instrumental composer Fasch is documented on several occasions. The title of the work published here for the first time is: Concerto / Flauto Traverso / Violino / Fagotto / Basso Dei Sig. Pasch Content: Allegro Largo Allegro
