Characteristic melodies and rhythms from Scandinavia, Spain, Ireland, Poland, the Alpine region and many other countries lead musically through Europe. Ortrud Hommes selected the 20 folk songs in such a way that they are musically diverse even without sung lyrics. Nevertheless, the lyrics are inserted in original language to give an impression of the original song character. The arrangements are adapted to the possibilities and playing qualities of the recorder.
