The concept has therefore proved its worth and has been adopted, modernised and expanded in the ‘new piano primer’. Ulrich Deppe has utilised his many years of experience as a piano teacher to make the new edition, which will be published in two volumes, a versatile and creative introduction to piano playing. From the very beginning, there are interesting pieces in all styles, which can be learnt very easily with suitable preliminary exercises. Imaginative musical exercises encourage children to be bold in their own interpretation, so that the joy of making music is always at the forefront.

Volume 1 of the ‘New piano primer’ contains 41 short piano pieces, including works by Mozart, Haydn and Bartók, folk songs, blues and rock music and a ragtime. The major and minor keys are played in the circle of fifths from C to A as well as note values up to the eighth note. A small excursion into the church keys offers a special incentive.
