‘Events’ was premiered on 18 June 2010 on the occasion of the Werner Heider Night in Erlangen.

Three notes - the unison motif of the 1st oboist of the Nuremberg Philharmonic Orchestra, Paulo Arantes - were the inspiration for this piece, which was premiered on 24 January 2010 in a concert on the occasion of Werner Heider's 80th birthday.

Composed in 2008, the piece with its allusion to the popular song ‘Tea for Two’ is dedicated to Oliver Colbentson (violin), Werner Heider's musical partner of many years, and is followed by a somewhat ironic ‘Serenade’ and a violin solo with a ‘shot’. ‘Various thoughts’ precede the “Gang” of the piano solo. "Where were you last night?" Thus begins the dialogue between violin and viola in Das Geheimnis. The musical exchange between the two instruments and their players is reinforced by a text that comes across as "mysterious" and absurd, sometimes German, sometimes English.

Werner Heider wrote the ‘Three Viola Pieces’ for his wife Lydia. Each of the three short pieces has its own musical character, sometimes calm and sad, sometimes energetic and insistent. The third piece in particular, with the playing instruction ‘like a little song’, seems to evoke memories.

The 80th birthday of Werner Heider's friend Gerhard Braun was the occasion for the composition of ‘ Three-Flute Blues’. Nevertheless, art blues for three flutes is aimed at all ambitious flute players who want to expand their classical repertoire with new pieces in the blues style. Here the musicians can interpret modern blues and familiarise themselves with blues rhythms and modern playing techniques.

Werner Heider creates a very special sound panorama in his work ‘Meteoros’ for solo piano. Individual points of sound are distributed across the entire piano scale in precise timing, interrupted by eruptive and surprising interjections. It is a sophisticated, programmatic piano piece without a dramatically narrated plot, but rather a unique snapshot of an informal event.

Die vorliegenden Duette sind Bearbeitungen von Klavierstücken Handels. Für das Spiel auf Altblockflöten wurden die Stücke in günstige Tonarten transponiert und beide Stimmen dichter zusammen gelegt. Es entstanden Stimmkreuzungen, wie sie auch in originalen Duetten auftreten.
