J. S. Bach's Sinfonien gelten als Musterbeispiele polyphoner, auf einem Tasteninstrument spielbarer Kunst. Die vorliegende Auswahl berücksichtigt die für Bläser geeigneten Kompositionen, die dem Tonumfang der Blockflöten entsprechend transponiert wurden.

Obwohl Händel für die "Feuerwerksmusik" eine reiche Instrumentierung mit Oboen, Fagotten, Kontrafagott, Hörnern, Trompeten, Pauken und Streichern vorgesehen hat, ist sie im Kern nur dreistimmig. In der vorliegenden Bearbeitung für Blockflöten wurde die Stimmenzahl auf diesen Kern reduziert.
