The second volume of Fridolin's Guitar Club again provides a wealth of pieces for guitar trio. Wer ein Melodieinstrument wie z. B. Blockflöte oder Querflöte erlernt, dürfte von Anfang an den Wunsch haben, möglichst bald in einem Ensemble mitzuwirken. Oder alternativ vielleicht einen Flötenclub zu gründen mit mehreren Kollegen oder Freunden, die sich dem gleichen Hobby verschrieben haben. Die vorliegende Sammlung mit Bearbeitungen für drei Altblockflöten (Querflöten) wendet sich an diese Gruppe: Leute, die sich noch in einem frühen Unterrichtsstadium befinden, zusätzlich aber mit Gleichgesinnten das Zusammenspiel pflegen möchten. In diesem Heft treffen einfache deutsche Volkslieder auf internationale Folksongs, dann wieder wechseln sich moderate Kompositionen aus der Welt des Rock/Pop mit Traditionals aus Übersee ab. Hinzu kommen Spielarten, die für das gängige Blockflötenrepertoire eher untypisch und unerwart sind, so z. B. ein Walzer im Country & Western-Feeling, das südliche Flair spanischer Flamencomusik oder auch ein kerniger Ragtime-Blues. Transkriptionen klassischer Kompositionen haben sich demgegenüber bereits einen festen Platz in der Blockflötenliteratur gesichert, und die hier die vorgestellten Werke von A. Diabelli, F. Carulli und H. Marschner stellen eine weitere Bereicherung dar. Ziel dieser Ausgabe war es denn auch, nicht nur die Spielfreude und das Gemeinschaftsmusizieren zu fördern,sondern auch die Vielfalt der heutigen Musikszene mit spielbaren Beispielen abzubilden. Der zweite Band des Flötenclubs stellt wieder eine Fülle von Spielstücken für die Triobesetzung (Altblockflöten oder Querflöten) zur Verfügung. Stilistisch geht es von der Renaissance bis zur Romantik, von Folksongs über Blues bis zu Spirituals und Kompositionen in verschiedenen populären Stilarten. Wie man schnell aus den Notenwerten, den Vorzeichen und auch aus dem Umfang der Stücke ersehen kann, wird hier ein höheres Maß an das instrumentale Können der Spielerinnen und Spieler vorausgesetzt. Über das frühe Unterrichtsstadium sollten sie also schon hinaus sein. Die Titel sind dabei nicht strikt nach Schwierigkeitsgrad geordnet, so dass man zwischendurch auch Spielstücke vorfindet, die sich entspannt und ohne große Anstrengung realisieren lassen. CD for ‘Großer Fridolin “Anyone who has worked on ”Fridolin’ or has already mastered monophonic melody playing and easy two-part pieces can expand their guitar playing skills with ‘Großer Fridolin’ - from applied and free attack to position playing, upstrokes and downstrokes to barré fingering. Popular styles such as folk, blues and flamenco are also learnt. This article will expire soon.

From spring 2013, the third volume of Fridolin-Schulwerke will also be available in an updated version with a new layout. The version with many new songs can now also be used alongside ‘Fridolin’. The most important chords and strumming patterns are worked out in the familiar way. The CD, which is now also available, features all the songs with vocals and guitar. A theory section rounds off the volume.
