The aim of Let's rag... is to make ragtime music accessible to a large number of instrumentalists. The choice of easy-to-play keys and the shortening of the original length to a manageable two piano pages per ragtime allows players to realise these arrangements without time-consuming preparation. The pieces on the CD are recorded with flute in the first version and can be played with piano accompaniment in the second version. Throughout church history, the Te Deum and the Gloria , both of which are early Christian hymns, have been set to music many times. In this handwritten score, Siegfried Borris (1906-1987) has arranged the Te Deum for oboe and organ – alternatively, it can also be performed with trumpet (D) or piano.
