Harald Heilmann (1924–2018) was a German composer who studied in Leipzig and Berlin after the Second World War and later continued his education in the Federal Republic of Germany. He worked as a lecturer, conductor, pianist and professor at the music academies in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe. He worked as a freelance composer from 1958 onwards and was awarded the Johann Wenzel Stamitz Prize and the Federal Cross of Merit. His work Fantasie for Violoncello and Organ is an outstanding example of his creative power and is suitable for concert performances.
