Concerto XX in C major | Valentin Rathgeber | Heinrichshofen publishing house
Valentin Rathgeber
Concerto XX in C major
Trumpet and organ
A member of the Benedictine Order, Valentin Rathgeber (1682-1750), who achieved fame for his ‘ear-pleasing and spirit-delighting table confection,’ wrote a great deal of sacred music during the period in which he held the post of "regens chori" or choirmaster at Banz Monastery/Franconia. Entitled ‘Chelys sonora’, Opus 6 one of his compositions, which appeared in print in 1728, contains a series of concertos scored for various ensembles, number 20 expressly calling for trumpet or horn as a solo instrument. In this arrangement, the solo part has been adopted in it's original form without alteration. The orchestral score, on the other hand, has been transcribed for performance on organs without pedals in conformity with Rathgeber's own style of writing for keyboard instruments as examplified in his published works. A hapsichord, may of course, be used as a substitute for organ. Content: 1. Allegro 2. Adagio 3. Presto

3 Sonatas | Domenico Scarlatti | Heinrichshofen publishing house
Domenico Scarlatti
3 Sonatas
2 trumpets and organ
Born in Naples, Domenico Scarlatti (1685–1757), wrote no chamber music of consequence either in his youth or when officiating as organist at St. Peter's in Rome. The same applies to the period he spent in the Portuguese royal service as music-master of the infanta Maria Barbara who eventually became Queen of Spain. His main focus of attention centred on keyboard music which extends to over 500 piano sonatas, all embodying a wealth of tonal color. As such, they serve as ideal material for rendering on wind instruments with keyboard accompaniment. Preference in this arrangement has gone to three sonatas, listed in the Kirkpatrick catalogue as numbers 96, 380 and 159, as being particularly suited to performance on two trumpets and organ. Transcription has been involved transposing the second sonata from E major to G major, and the third sonata from C major to D major. A harpsichord can be put to equally effective use in lieu of an organ. Content: 1. Sonata 1 (Allegrissimo) 2. Sonata 2 (Andante comodo) 3. Sonata 3 (Allegro)

Contrapuncti dodecaphonici | Eberhard Kraus | Heinrichshofen publishing house
Eberhard Kraus
Contrapuncti dodecaphonici V
Trumpet (C | B) and organ
Versetti contrarii for high trumpet and organ; Versetti contrarii for organ; European Baroque, Suite for high trumpet and organ Eberhard Kraus (1931–2003) was an organist, composer and professor at the Regensburg University of Music. As a distinguished church musician and composer, his work combined tradition and modernity – from Baroque-inspired polyphony to contemporary techniques such as dodecaphony. The fifth part of his series Contrapunkti dodecaphonici is an impressive example of this combination. The instrumentation for trumpet and organ creates an exciting interplay between serial structure and expressive sonority. The composition demands precise ensemble playing and interpretative depth – both for the trumpet with its clear lines and for the organ as the supporting harmonic foundation. Eberhard Kraus's organ compositions based on twelve-tone rows alternate in this book with selected pieces by old masters in which the trumpet can shine. A work of particular appeal for advanced musicians, it is equally suitable for concert programmes with a contemporary focus and as a contrasting element in thematically mixed performances.

Trumpet (C | Bb) and organ
The organist of St. Peters Rome, Girolamo Frescobaldi (1583-1643) is looked upon as Italy's most famous organ composer. Apart from numerous organ works appearing in print and some church music that has come down to us in manuscript form, he himself published a book of one- to four-part canzonas with a basso continuo part (1628). Frescobaldi does not indicate any precise instrumentation although the use of brass instruments was undoubtedly intended. The organ may ,of course, be replaced by a positive organ or a hapsichord. Concerto F major | Tommaso Albinoni | Heinrichshofen publishing house
Tommaso Albinoni
Concerto F major
Trumpet (C | Bb) and organ
Tommaso Albinoni (1671–1751) is one of the outstanding composers of the Italian Baroque period. His concertos in particular are characterised by clear melodic lines, harmonic elegance and a solemn, festive mood. The Concerto in F major is a typical example of Albinoni's masterful combination of virtuosity and musical expressiveness. Concerto IV from the “Sinfonie e Concerti” op. 2, printed in 1700, was transcribed for organ by Johann Gottfried Walther. Based on this work, Peter Reichert has arranged the three movements for trumpet and organ in a style appropriate to the original. The trumpet takes on the soloistic brilliance of the original melody, while the organ provides the accompanying structure with baroque sonority and rhythmic precision. The arrangement is ideal for festive occasions, concerts, and liturgical celebrations. An impressive addition to the repertoire for trumpet and organ—festive, beautiful, and appealing to audiences.

Arrival of the Queen of Sheba | George Frideric Handel | Heinrichshofen publishing house
Georg Friedrich Händel
Arrival of the Queen of Sheba
Trumpet (C | Bb) and organ, trumpet 2 ad. lib.
From ‘Solomon’, Act 3, HWV 67 George Frideric Handel's (1685-1759) festive and lively sinfonia ‘ The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba ’ from the oratorio Solomon is one of his best-known and most popular works. The characteristic blend of Baroque splendour, dance-like lightness and melodic clarity makes the piece a highlight in concerts and church services. In the arrangement by Arvid Gast (organ) and Joachim Pliquett (trumpet), the work is given an impressive sonic transformation for two instruments. The trumpet takes on the radiant upper voices, while the organ fills the orchestral part with baroque splendour and rhythmic precision. This version is ideal for festive occasions, church celebrations and as an effective concert opener. A classical work of the Baroque period – newly interpreted in a playful and audience-friendly arrangement. Content: 1. Allegro

3 Trumpet Voluntaries
Henry Purcell
3 Trumpet Voluntaries
Trumpet (C, Bb) and organ
Henry Purcell (1659–1695) from London is one of the most famous organists of the Chapel Royal. He left behind numerous harpsichord pieces in his oeuvre, which have been preserved in several collections and often bear the titles ‘Trumpet Tune’ or ‘Trumpet Voluntary.’ In the present ‘Trumpet Voluntaries’, such works, which are usually short, have been combined into larger musical forms, resulting in compositions that approximate the dimensions of Purcell's choral and orchestral music. The organ part of this edition can also be played on a positive organ or harpsichord. Content: 1. Voluntary in C major 2. Voluntary in D major 3. Voluntary in B flat major
