Horn quartet for horn in F - work 12 (2021, new version 2023)

With ‘Wald’, Claus Woschenko has created an impressive work that combines natural sounds, contrapuntal density and tonal depth. Smartly constructed like a matryoshka, homophonic and moving sections alternate - always with a clear tonal connection and an expressive tonal language.

The work was created in close collaboration with the Lausitz Horn Quartet, which premièred it in 2024. Revised in range and voice distribution, ‘Wald’ offers an appealing mixture of technical challenge and musical complexity.
