Dietrich Erdmann hat trotz seines avancierten Kompositionsstils den Bezug zum Hörer nie verloren. Er besitzt einen feinen Klangsinn, großen Einfallsreichtum und ist ein Meister klar umrissener Formen. Seine Zielsetzung beschreibt er selbst wie folgt: Ich strebe Farbigkeit, lebendige Rhythmik und bei aller tonalen Ungebundenheit eine sinnfällige Melodik an - gefasst in eine möglichst präzise Form die auch für den normalen Hörer übersichtlich bleiben soll".

nach der Sonate für Klavier A-Dur KV 331 Mozarts Klaviersonate KV 331 mit dem berühmten Rondo "alla turca", heute in unzählichen Pop-Versionen vermarktet, war schon um 1800 so beliebt, dass sie vielfach bearbeitet wurde. z. B. für Gitarre und Flöte, als Klaviertrio oder gar für Harmoniemusik. Unter diesen Fassungen ragt die Einrichtung von Franz Anton Hoffmeister (1754-1812) heraus, weil hier ein erfahrener Komponist, der überdies Mozart als Freund und Verleger eng verbunden war, den meist zweistimmigen Klaviersatz zu einem veritablen Quartett erweitert hat, ohne am Original Wesentliches zu verändern.

The first volume of the “Musik im Team” series contains chamber music for the beginning (lower level) of piano lessons. The piano parts of the familiar children's songs and popular folk songs are designed so that they can be played by pupils after the first year of lessons for the most part, but also earlier in some cases. The melody parts can be played in single and multiple instrumentation. The second part does not have an accompanying function, but is on a par with the first. The bass and percussion parts are to be used ad libitum. Both can be omitted without detracting from the musical meaning. Two verses of all the songs have been composed. Making music together in an ensemble gives all instrumental students great pleasure and is an important part of their musical education. The series ‘Music in a Team’ takes up the recommendations of the VdM's expert commission ‘Piano players as music-making partners’ and offers the opportunity to gain chamber music experience. This volume contains works from the Baroque and Classical periods arranged for 2 identical or different melody instruments, piano, bass and percussion. Multiple instrumentation is also possible. The first and second parts are equal and alternate melodically together with the piano. The bass part has gained in expressiveness and, together with the percussion, complements the sound in a marvellous way. Both parts can be omitted without detracting from the musical sense.
