Each month of the year holds its own magic – a changing palette of moods captured in the Cello Calendar through twelve expressive ballads for cello and piano. From the soft bloom of May to the misty quiet of November, composer Magdalena König paints musical portraits inspired by the seasons. The pieces cover a range from first to fourth position, occasionally reaching harmonics. Optional use of fifth position is possible for more advanced players.
